Experimenting with visual and verbal language, students gain
confidence with concept development and a range of processes and
materials. The program develops English language skills using art
and design content, with equal emphasis on speaking, listening,
reading, and writing.
學生來自 China, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau,
Mexico, Russia, Taiwan, and Turkey.
個人及團髒的藝術專案 Individual and group art
projects allow students to further develop their creativity and to
experience collaboration as a part of studio practice. Several
projects should be suitable to include in a college admissions
portfolio.
藝術/設計工作室The art/design studio component of
this program is structured to help students move to the next level
in their own creative interests through a broad exploration of
various art and design disciplines.

content of this program, all applicants should have a serious
interest in furthering their development in art, design, and the
English language.

週未及晚上學生可參訪舊金山On weekends and evenings,
students will have an opportunity to visit San Francisco sites and
museums.
每週一對一英文教學二次 In addition to formal coursework, evening activities,
and weekend excursions, all program participants receive one-on-one
tutoring with an English-language coach twice a week.
Our program takes advantage of CCA´s
unique location, the diverse cultural vibrancy of the San Francisco
Bay Area, and the innovative influences of Silicon Valley. CCA
enjoys the many benefits of its exciting location.

學生在CCA校園卜課The program takes place on
CCA’s San Francisco campus.
學生住在CCA全新的宿舍 Panoramic 宿舍 , 有網路廚房電視Students are housed in CCA's
brand new Panoramic
Residencein San Francisco. Each shared room is fully furnished
and includes wireless internet access, a kitchen, and a TV. Students
also have access to a study room and laundry room.
TCCA staff members are available to students 24 hours a day.

Due to the immersive nature of the program, this housing is
required of all participants.

Making Summer Travel Plans
This three-week summer program is an
immersion experience. Participants are fully engaged the entire
time, including days, evenings, and weekends.
If a program participant’s family decides to come to the United
States for a vacation, this vacation should be scheduled either
before or after the summer program. Students should not have outside
obligations to be with family while participating in the program.
The 2016 Application will be posted after
the New Year.
The priority deadline for applications is April 1. Once the
student’s application and all required materials are received, the
applicant will be notified of admission within two weeks.
Enrollment is limited. Interested students should submit
materials as soon as possible in order to receive the admissions
decision, apply for a tourist (B) visa if necessary, and begin
summer planning.

Applications are not complete until the application fee has been

Single-page statement, written by applicant, describing interest
in this program.

One letter of recommendation from an English teacher or school
counselor. Please ask the recommending teacher to email the
letter to Laura Robinson, Summer English Coordinator,laurarobinson@cca.edu.

Students must provide documentation of English-language
proficiency. Students may have their current English teacher
communicate by email with Laura Robinson, or they
must complete an internationally recognized English proficiency
exam. (Previous students have entered the program with an IELTS
score of 5.5, TOEFL IBT score of 65, iTEP score of 3.5, or the
equivalent on another exam.)

$150 refundable housing damage deposit
Total: $4,475 (US)
Program tuition includes art supplies, English language course
materials, museum and other admission fees, local transportation
costs, and breakfast and dinner Monday through Saturday.
Housing fee includes three weeks at the San Francisco student
residence.
A $150 damage deposit will be collected in addition to
housing-fee payment. If there is no damage to the room or residence,
this charge will be returned to the student in full.
Program fees do not include
airfare, cost of transportation to/from airport, personal expenses,
or health/travel insurance.
Payment Information
Program fees may be paid by wire
transfer, check (payable to California College of the Arts), Visa,
American Express, Discover, or MasterCard.
The tuition fee, housing fee, and housing damage deposit are due
in full after students have been admitted into the program and have
confirmed authorization to enter the United States.

Students who withdraw on or before May 15
will receive a 50 percent refund of tuition and housing fees. No
refunds are issued after May 15.
All withdrawal requests must be emailed to Summer English
Coordinator Laura Robinson at laurarobinson@cca.edu on
or before May 15. Please make sure you receive an email from us
confirming that we have received your withdrawal request.
Students should plan to arrive at the San
Francisco International Airport (SFO) on Saturday,
July 9, 2016 and depart on Sunday, July 31, 2016.
Additional travel information will be emailed to enrolled students.
Please note we will not be able to meet you at the airport if you
arrive prior to July 9, 2016. Also, you would need to make housing
arrangements for the day(s) you arrive before July 9, 2016, the
official check-in date.
Non-U.S. citizens who are admitted to
CCA’s Summer High School English + Art/Design Program do not need to
obtain an international student (F1) visa. They can apply for a
tourist (B) visa at a U.S. embassy or consulate.
Admitted students should carefully plan ahead and make
appointments for their visa interview as soon as possible,
scheduling appointments in May or early June at the very latest.

Medical costs in the United States can be
very expensive. All participants are
required to have
health insurance for the duration of the program that is valid for
medical care in the United States, should they experience illness or
injury while studying in California.
If a student needs a referral to summer health insurance
coverage, please let us know and we will put you in touch with CCA's
health insurance provider.
